Retrieving spots is taking too long

Omdat Spotnet enkel betrekking heeft tot mensen in Nederland zijn de antwoorden op de vragen in het Nederlands geformuleerd./Because Spotnet refers only to people in the Netherlands, the answers to the questions will be formulated in Dutch.

U kunt kiezen uit 2 oplossingen, het opnieuw installeren van de Spotnet software OF gebruik maken van onze eigen SnelNL software.

Solution 1:

1) Remove your current version of Spotnet (if you had one installed) using the standard Windows method of disposal > Delete this Program:

2) Download this special Spotnet version, which properly sets up most of the data automatically, and install it:
http://spotnet-downloaden.nl/download.html
During the installation you will be asked if you already have an account or if you want to create a new one, select the option that you already have an account.

Now you can fill in your data that you received by email:

For your username:

Your username is the email address you've subscriped to SnelNL with, but with a subject line '_' instead of an at sign '@'.

For your password:

Fill in your password. If you don't remember the password you created for your account. SnelNL offers you the possibility to create a new password.
Click here to request a new password.

A new password will be sent to your email address.

Please note that it will take an estimated 2 minutes before your new password will be activated.

For your account type:

Please select the account type for which you've subscribed.

Solution 2:

Download de nieuwste SnelNL versie (die zet de meeste gegevens al automatisch goed) en installeer het: http://www.snelnl.com/nl/download

Tijdens de installatie wordt gevraagd naar uw login gegevens:

Gebruikersnaam: Uw email adres
Wachtwoord: Het wachtwoord wat u had? Weet u die nog? U kunt via onze site een nieuw wachtwoord aanmaken indien nodig:

What is the difference between 3/8/12 connections?

This setting will depend on your type of subscription and software.

Use the following settings using the software SnelNL:

Small Account = 3 Threads / Connections
Basic Account = 8 Threads / Connections
Fast Account = 20 Threads / Connections

Use the following settings via Spotnet software:

Small Account = 5 Threads / Connections
Basic Account = 10 Threads / Connections
Fast Account = 20 Threads / Connections

I got the error message “System.OutOfMemoryException”

When you get this message you should try and install Spotnet again. To do this:

1) Remove your current version of Spotnet (if you had one installed) using the standard Windows method of disposal > Delete this Program:

I got an 502 error message

There are two types of 502 errors.

Type 1: 502 Authentication Failed
In most cases it means the username / password combination is wrong. However it could also mean your account is currently closed and so you need to activate it (by extending).
Please check your user profile page to see if your account is still active. If your account is active, it must be wrong login details, so go into the download software and check the following:

For your username:
Your username is the email address you've subscriped to SnelNL with, but with a subject line '_' instead of an at sign '@'.

For your password:
If you don't remember the password you created for your account. SnelNL offers you the possibility to create a new password.
Click here to request a new password.

A new password will be sent to your email address Please note that it will take an estimated two minutes before your new password will be activated.

Type 2: 502 Too Many Connections or 502 Acces Denied (Hit Connection Limit)

The "502 Too Many Connections" or "502 Access Denied (Hit Connection Limit)" errors means that you are using too many connections.

Go into the download software and open the software settings. How many connections (also called: threads) are allowed?

Please try to enter the appropriate number of connections/threads:
Slow account can use up to 4 connections
Basic account can use up to 8 connections
Fast account can use up to 12 connections

Running SnelNL and Spotnet at the same time:

Go into the SnelNL software "Settings" and then "Extended Settings". Set the "Connections" from "Automatic" to your corresponding account type:
Slow account can use up to 3 connections
Basic account can use up to 8 connections
Fast account can use up to 12 connections

After that press "Apply" on the right top of the Settings page.

Tip: You want to send the downloads from Spotnet to the SnelNL software?
Go in Spotnet to the left top menu and open the menu called "Bewerken" and in that menu open "Download knop". Put this on the "Open NZB" .
From now when you add a download it will automatically start in downloading in SnelNL. (Having SnelNL installed on your computer.)

I am having trouble connecting

Below are the settings needed to connect both SnelNL and Spotnet.

For SnelNL users:

Address: news.snelnl.com
Port: 119
Connections / Threads: This number depends on your account: Account Small = 3 | Basic account = 8 | Fast Account = 12
Username: Your username is the email address you've subscriped to SnelNL with, but with a subject line '_' instead of an at sign '@'.
Password: Your password has been sent to you with our order confirmation email.

For Spotnet users:

Provider: "Other"
Address: news.snelnl.com
Port: 119
Connections / Threads: This number depends on your account: Account = Small 5 | Basic Account = 10 | Fast Account = 14
Username: Your username is the email address you've subscriped to SnelNL with, but with a subject line '_' instead of an at sign '@'.
Password: Your password has been sent to you with our order confirmation email.

I am having trouble installing Spotnet

1.) Verwijder de huidige Spotnet (als u deze hebt geïnstalleerd?) via de normale Windows verwijdering methode > Programma Verwijderen: (*als u die nog op uw computer had) http://windows.microsoft.com/nl-NL/windows-vista/Uninstall-or-change-a-p...

2.) Download een nieuw Spotnet versie (die zet de meeste gegevens als automatisch goed) en installeer het: http://spotnet-downloaden.nl/download.html
Tijdens de installatie wordt gevraagd of u al een account hebt of u een nieuwe wilt aanmaken, kies voor de optie dat u al een account hebt.

Nu kunt u uw gegevens invullen die u per email had ontvangen:
